Provide job-embedded differentiated professional learning to ensure teachers continuously improve their ability to provide instructional services to students resulting in increased student achievement.
Position may be filled prior to posting close date.
Salary: $39,100.00 - $68,050.00
Additional Job Information:
What FWCS Instructional Coaches will know and be able to do:
1. Participate and engage in job-embedded, after school and summer professional learning concerning all District Instructional Models.
2. Use and collect data to determine effectiveness of coaching on changing adult practices and the impact on student achievement.
3. FWCS Instructional Coaches have knowledge of current effective practices in curriculum and instructional design.
a. The Instructional Coach supports development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
b. The Instructional Coach consults with the building principal to improve collaboration, build learning communities, and facilitate implementation of the District Curriculum and Instructional Design, curriculum development, and instructional design as well as the FWCS Teaching and Learning Cycle.
4. FWCS Instructional Coaches model teaching behavior to adult learners in a variety of highly effective instructional practices.
5. FWCS Instructional Coaches masterfully guide all teams through the FWCS Teaching and Learning Cycle (analyzing data, setting goals, learning individually and collaboratively, implementing new learning, and monitoring, assessing, and adjusting practice.)
6. FWCS Instructional Coaches have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
a. The Instructional Coach facilitates professional learning communities and assists teams in problem solving through inquiry groups using data.
b. The Instructional Coach ensures that all communities use FWCS Learning Designs effectively to raise expectations for all students as well as their performance on their common assessments and state and national assessments.
7. FWCS Instructional Coaches mentor adults in need of professional support.
a. The Instructional Coach has the knowledge and skill to engage and facilitate professional learning of teachers based on student performance and their own learning needs.
b. The Instructional Coach gathers artifacts and evidence of effectiveness with individuals and learning teams that they share regularly with their principals.
8. FWCS Instructional Coaches engage in their own learning community by attending all sessions scheduled by the District, engaging intentionally with their study team to increase their effectiveness, and share expertise with other coaches so that the entire community is successful at increasing the proficiency of adults to positively impact student achievement.
9. Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet the personalized and precise needs of the building/unit.
10. Services must align with federal, and state law, and District standards, policy, procedures, and the FWCS/FWEA Master Contract.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is required to have dexterity of hands and fingers. The employee is required to sit or stand for extended periods. They may be occasionally required to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is seated or walking at will and has limited physical labor.
Qualifications:
Possess a valid Indiana teaching license for the grade level assigned and/or subject assigned and a minimum of three, preferably five, years of teaching experience with documentation of instructional and/or coaching effectiveness. Must possess knowledge of FWCS principles, theories, practices, procedures, and techniques used in lesson plan development and instruction. Meet all the guidelines for effective teachers as detailed in the FWCS Classroom Job Description.
Student performance data in the teacher's classroom must show a positive trend of growth on the Indiana College and Career Standards.
Demonstrated leadership on their Quality Improvement Team (QIT) and at the school in developing school-based curriculum (SCIP's, Assessments of and for Learning, and Instructional Design).
Have skillfully facilitated teams through curriculum processes or problem solving effectively.
