Rockford Public School District is seeking applications for the following position(s):

Grade 4 Multi-Classroom Leader (Differential)

Location: Washington Elementary

Purpose of the Position - MCL (Multi-Classroom Leader): The MCL (Multi-Classroom Leader) will lead and provide support to grade level and or content area teams. The MCL will serve as a coach to build capacity for teachers and Aspiring Teachers. This capacity building will enable staff to perform for continued student achievement, engagement in the classroom, and improved classroom management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Aspiring Teacher

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position. .
- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Weekly meetings with Building Administration to determine focus for the week.
- Analyze grade level data from formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare for and conduct weekly grade level(content area) meetings/PLC meetings
- Classroom observations of grade level (content area) teachers.
- Submit weekly schedule to administrator.
- Engage in “shoulder to shoulder” teaching in other teachers’ classrooms.
- Provide support and guidance to Aspiring Teachers in the areas of lesson planning, lesson delivery, classroom management. This will be done through the eyes of the Danielson Framework.
- Lead small group/intervention lessons
- Support first level of behavior intervention with students in their own classroom as well as teaching partners’ classrooms.
- Provide on-going assistance and support to teachers, utilizing the professional learning community platform and SMART learning processes.
- Attend meetings and professional development that occurs outside of the school day.
- Other duties that may be outlined in the building created plan for MCL/Aspiring Teacher initiative.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of successful experience as a teacher.
- Minimum of Proficient on last two evaluations
- Professional Educator License registered

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrable proficiency in the following: a variety of research-based techniques/programs, facilitating groups and working with adults, goal setting especially through the SMART process, leading Professional Learning Communities. Must be able to have the ability and courage to have difficult conversations with adults.

Length of Work: 9 Months, with up to 7 days in the summer

Working Conditions: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
