Balsz School District History and Mission Statement Balsz School District Opened its first school in October, 1888 with only 11 students. Originally housed in a one-room structure, the district has grown to include five separate campuses. A professional staff exceeding 400 serves more than 3,000 students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

The mission of the Balsz School District is to provide a creative, challenging, motivating, and caring environment where all students can acquire skills and knowledge for lifelong learning. All students will learn to be productive, responsible, and culturally enriched citizens through the cooperative efforts of a self-renewing staff, involved family and a supportive community.
