Liberty has a long and rich educational history. Established by the Territorial Government in 1908, the District has served the community of Liberty and the surrounding area for 94 years. The community always has and continues to support the schools and education. A stable, child-centered environment is the hallmark of Liberty. Estrella Mountain Ranch, the largest master planned community in the state, lies within the boundaries of the district, and will contain 65,000 homes when completed. The beautiful White Tank and Estrella Mountains surround the district. Fields of cotton, alfalfa, and grain provide a beautiful landscape in our rural area for all to enjoy. The economy of the area is based on farming, manufacturing, distribution, housing development, and power generation. The area is projected to be one of the most vibrant, growing areas of the southwest valley. Cultural events in Phoenix, the 6th largest city in the country, lie just 20 miles to the east. Estrella Mountain Community College and Arizona State University West provide educational opportunities for all ages and areas of interest. A wide variety of outdoor recreation is within the immediate area and the state offers a diverse topography from near sea level to 11,000 ft. high alpine mountains that provide snow skiing, hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, camping and more.
