Milwaukee Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

GEF Math Teacher Leader

Location: Central Services Building

Regular/Temporary: Regular

Job Summary:
The GE Foundation (GEF) Mathematics Teacher Leader is a non-evaluative, non supervisory teacher position that will work collaboratively with the Math Department, Classroom Teachers, School Learning Teams and District Instructional Leaders. The GEF Mathematics Teacher Leader will be assigned to the Chief Academic Office in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The GE Foundation (GEF) Mathematics Teacher Leader will interact and collaborate with School Support Teachers and their respective school learning teams on the implementation of the Comprehensive Math and Science Plan, Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and formative and summative assessments based on standards in support of college and career readiness goals.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree preferred, minimum Math license (400).

Minimum of three (3) years' experience in mathematics teaching at the middle or high school level.

Evidence in working successfully with culturally diverse students and their families demonstrating evidence of providing culturally responsive teaching.

Adept with computer technology (e.g. Word, Excel programs, Web-based programs, online classroom platforms, etc.)

Excellent problem solving skills and crisis management skills.

Coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
Research and provide resources to help schools and teacherīs with instruction.

Attend required meetings and conferences.

Work with school leaders, staff, students, community partners and parents to ensure effective implementation and evaluation of the programs and services.

Work with school leadership to ensure programming and scheduling that maximizes options for students with and support School Support Teachers, staff and administrators in charge of curriculum and implementation of the program.

Develop informative and engaging lessons based on research based, best practices.

Deliver Professional Development to teachers and support staff.

Coach classroom teachers on teaching to CCSS standards, best teacher practices, project-based lessons, college and career readiness standards in Math.
