Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Green Bay Area Public Schools

The Green Bay Area Public School District is seeking applicants interested in being considered for potential Speech Language Pathologist positions. The purpose of this position is to provide speech and language services for students from 3 to 21 years of age as identified in individualized education plans (IEPs). At this time, we are seeking candidates who are interested in learning more about positions which may be available beginning with the 2017-18 school year.

Qualifications Required:
Education: Master's Degree in Communicative Disorders

Certification: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Speech Language Pathologist licensure

Essential Functions:
1. Follows the Core Values of the Green Bay Area Public School District as driver of our words and actions.
2. Promotes efforts on diversity, establishes best practices and utilizes skills to remove barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.
3. Develops IEPs based on studentsí needs.
5. Facilitates and/or participates in IEP team meetings and evaluations.
6. Schedules interventions using a variety of service delivery models including classroom interventions, consultation/ collaboration, and direct service as appropriate to meet student needs in the least restrictive environment.
7. Plans and implements research-based interventions.
8. Chooses therapy materials to meet the needs, age, cultural differences and interests of students.
9. Maintains records (ex. IEPs, progress reports, Medicaid billing) and submits required reports promptly and accurately.
10. Administers formal and informal assessments to determine student progress, needs and eligibility.
11. Analyzes and interprets assessment results to make recommendations regarding the need for speech/language services and participates in evaluation team meetings.
12. Collaborates with classroom teachers in the carry-over of communication skills for students with speech/language disabilities.
13. Follows established District special education procedures.
14. Utilizes procedures and forms included in the Speech and Language Handbook.
15. Consults with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to monitor studentsí performance.
16. Conducts conferences with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
17. Engages in professional growth activities related to speech/language and/or education.
18. Knowledgeable of evaluation and treatment methods for bilingual children with communication disorders in the areas of voice, language, fluency, and articulation.
19. Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, professionals and other personnel from Spanish cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
20. Promotes, recruits, and enhances the level of community involvement in understanding and providing opportunities for bilingual programming, students, families and staff.
21. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
