ELL LADDER Teacher (ELL Coach)

Location: Southwest High School

Description:
The Green Bay Public School District is pleased to accept applications for an English as a Second Language (ELL) LADDER position for the 2017-18 school year at Southwest High School.

Qualifications Required:
Education: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Bilingual or ESL license at the the High School level

Experience: Three years of successful teaching bilingual/ESL

Qualifications Desired:
Experience: Professional learning in WIDA ELD Standards and teacher coaching; Experience in working in collaborative teams; Strong interpersonal skills

The teacher who is selected to be an ELL LADDER teacher must commit to provide on-going support to mainstream teachers in a collaborative effort to help all ELLs meet or exceed grade level expectations through best practices. In addition to standard District teacher expectations, the ELL LADDER teacher will agree to the following additional essential functions:

1. Provides classroom-based support for implementation of new and/or refined instructional practices
2. Differentiates professional learning experiences in response to teacher needs
3. Collaboratively designs and/or reviews lesson plans, assessment, and assignments with colleagues
4. Creates structures and processes for collaborative work that promote collegiality and shared responsibility
5. Includes non-evaluative peer observation and feedback to improve instruction
6. Collaboratively analyzes student work to inform instruction
7. Participates in on-going WIDA professional development
8. Locates appropriate resources for ELLs
9. Models ELL strategies for mainstream teachers
