Literacy Interventionist (part-time)

Location: Aldo Leopold Community School

The Green Bay Area Public School District is currently seeking Reading certified applicants with an interest in a part-time (50%) literacy intervention position at Aldo Leopold K-8 Community School (ALCS). If you want to work with a collaborative team to provide multi-level systems of support for students to experience success in the universal setting, you are encouraged to apply today. Candidates making application to the position who are new to the District or to a literacy interventionist position will be required to complete questions relevant to the position.

Staff at ALCS believe that education must prepare all learners to be critical thinkers and thoughtful citizens, providing instruction and guidance that focuses on students' needs and interests. Within these partnerships the students often design and implement service learning projects that become a path for them to further their connections with the community.

Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelorís Degree and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Elementary/Middle Level Certification, and Reading or Reading Specialist License
Experience: Minimum of 3 Years of Successful Teaching Experience

Qualifications Desired: Previous experience administering and monitoring literacy interventions.

Position Purpose: To provide a multilevel system of literacy interventions for students. Successful candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, data interpretations and management, and flexibility in working with other professionals.

Essential Functions:
1. Provides district adopted literacy interventions as recommended by the intervention design.
2. Participates in district provided literacy intervention professional learning.
3. Uses various forms of assessment to select interventions and to inform instructional decisions.
4. Collaborates with the building principal, classroom teacher, literacy coach, literacy interventionist, and various problem solving team members for the purpose of meeting individual student's academic needs.
5. Utilizes technology skills for record keeping and data entry.
6. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
