Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Physical Therapist (limited term)

Location: Green Bay Area Public Schools

The Green Bay Public School District is pleased to accept applications for limited term Physical Therapist positions beginning approximately November 6, 2017 through approximately December 23, 2017. School Physical Therapists work with school staff, students, and parents to facilitate accessibility and active student participation in a variety of learning environments.

Qualifications Required:
Education: Minimum of Bachelorís Degree in Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association from an accredited university
License: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Physical Therapy certification

Qualifications Desired:
Education: Masterís or Doctoral degree preferred

Essential Functions:
1. Evaluates students using appropriate tests, skilled professional observation and supplementary information from other agencies and records.
2. Develops, implements and coordinates direct and indirect services within the school environment based on individual evaluation and the Individualized Education Plans (IEP). The focus of these services may include but are not limited to a studentís:
 Gross motor skills
 Motor planning
 Muscle strength
 Joint range of motion
 Coordination
 Balance and safety
 Posture and stability
 Active participation
 Adaptive equipment
3. Participates in the development of the IEP and attends IEP meetings, parent/teacher conferences and shares information in progress reports.
4. Provides strategies to facilitate accessibility and active participation.
5. Provides consultation and training regarding implementing daily routines as well as emergency evacuation of students with disabilities.
6. Assesses the need for and assists with the obtainment of assistive technology and/or adaptive equipment (i.e. wheelchairs, walking aids) as well as general adaptations/modifications necessary for function at school.
7. Completes and maintains required records/documentation of services provided in accordance with district and state policies and the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
8. Serves as a resource to parents, school staff and administration regarding disabling conditions and their effects on education.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions:
1. Work involves frequent disruptions of daily schedule.
2. Work involves frequent deadlines under pressure.
3. Work requires travel to a variety of assigned schools to provide services to children.
