Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Fine Arts Piano Instructor

Location: Washington Middle School

Salary/Wage: Salary commensurate with experience; follows the Green Bay Public School District Employee Handbook

Terms/Schedule: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The Green Bay Public School District Fine Arts Program turns up the volume on fine arts education, providing an opportunity for students to engage in study in their chosen discipline. This Fine Arts Piano Instructor position provides exceptional opportunities for students to develop their skills and passions in the discipline of music. Instructors within the Fine Arts Program at Washington Middle School nurture the talents and challenge the skills of students, preparing them for the Fine Arts Institute at East High School, located near Washington Middle School.

This Piano Instructor position requires a person to provide master teacher level individual and group instruction on piano during an enrichment period. The right candidate for this position is willing to invest long-term and become and active team member that focuses on developing this unique program.

Qualifications Required:
Experience: Ability to play a variety of genre on piano.

Qualifications Desired:
Education: Bachelors of Music or Bachelors of Music Education (with piano as the major instrument)

1. Teaching experience in an academic setting preferred but Private Studio Experience also qualifies
2. Experiences in private and group settings.
3. Professional performance experience preferred.
4. Strong Music Theory Background

5. Ability to teach a variety of skill levels beginning through advanced techniques on the piano.
6. Provides students with a number of performance opportunities through concerts and studio performances.
7. Provides creative opportunities for parent involvement and communication about student progress on the piano.
8. Assists with curriculum writing, assessment and data analysis related to engagement and learning.
9. Participates in ongoing professional learning with arts integration.
10. Works collaboratively with the Fine Arts General Music teachers and other instructors.
11. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions: Will require time outside the staff work day for performances.
