Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Program Support Teacher-Alternative Education

Location: Dr. Rose Minoka Hill School

Description:
We are seeking a Program Support Teacher for Dr. Rose Minoka Hill school and the Alternative Education programs of the Green Bay Area Public School District. The right candidate for this position is an individual with extensive knowledge and expertise of special education law and IEP writing to support teachers within our K-12 programs and ensure IEP accuracy and compliance. The person chosen for this position will need to work with a variety of people in a coaching role for academics, behavior, and IEP writing. He or she will need to be highly organized and able to meet deadlines that come up quickly.

Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelors Degree from an accredited university

Certification: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Special Education Certification

Education: 3 years of successful teaching experience.

Qualifications Desired:
Experience: Strong computer skills, including typing and word processing. Working knowledge of ONet and Infinite Campus (IC). Knowledge and experience in working with students with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities.

Essential Functions:
1. Working knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as special education criteria.
2. Serves as case manager on 3-year Reevaluations in collaboration with home school to ensure legal compliance.
3. Ensures district adherence to Child Find regulations.
4. Attends weekly/biweekly team meetings of alternative education programs to ensure IDEA compliance, communicate ideas for classroom management, assist with the management of student behavior and learning needs, and share information to ensure students with disabilities are college, career, and/or community ready.
5. Provides ongoing professional learning opportunities to special education and regular education teachers, as well as administrators, parents, community and other staff.
6. Attends continuing education and in-service conferences and facilitates staff development related to special education within the district.
7. Attends abeyance and manifestation meetings for students violating school policy.
8. Facilitates entrance and exit meetings of alternative students between program and home school.
9. Serves as IEP transition coordinator for alternative programs.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
