Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Special Education Teacher (Middle School Level)

Location: Dr. Rosa Minoka Hill School

The Green Bay Public School District is accepting applications for a special education teaching position in the middle school program at Dr. Rosa Minoka Hill School. The teacher chosen for this position must demonstrate a commitment to working with at-risk students with multiple learning levels. The candidate must have the ability to differentiate curriculum and instructional techniques and have a disposition to manage crisis and be flexible and willing to change plans quickly. The teacher must collaborate closely with all related service providers, both in district and out of the district, as well as monitor, assess, and adjust the program needs throughout the school year. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to work with challenging youth. The major mission for staff is to keep students engaged and in attendance.

Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelors Degree

Certification: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Cross Categorical or EBD special education certification; Certification in non-violent crisis intervention or ability to obtain;

Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Alternative Education certification, or willingness to enroll in a program and obtain certification within on year

Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as special education criteria; Knowledge of behavior management techniques; Strong organization and communication skills

Qualifications Desired:
Experience working with students with behavior issues

Essential Functions:

6. Follows safe practices and adheres to safety standards.
7. Ensures district adherence to Child Find Regulations.
8. Ensures IEPís are written in compliance with state regulations and adhere to timelines and deadlines.
9. Provides individualized instruction for all students.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions:
1. Work involves frequent disruptions of daily schedule.
2. Work involves frequent deadlines under pressure.
