Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

English As A Language (ESL) Teacher

Location: Edison and Lombardi Middle Schools

The Green Bay Public School District is seeking candidates interested in a middle school English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching position at Edison and Lombardi Middle Schools for the 2017-18 school year. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction middle school level and ESL certification is required.

Edison Middle School is a vibrant school community where educators, students, and families are working together to ensure learning for all in a safe and welcoming setting. Edison Middle School boasts a very diverse student population. With more than 1,150 students, this diversity is one of Edison’s strengths and has afforded an opportunity to offer a wide range of curricular and co-curricular options including sports, theatre, musical and choral performances, and community service opportunities. Edison has led the way when it comes to advancing quality instruction in an effort to improve student achievement. Staff members work collaboratively within professional learning communities following the Gradual Release of Responsibility framework to craft units of study that provide rigor and relevance with the Common Core State Standards. Teachers also work collaboratively with a literacy coach, math coach and ladder coach for the purpose of ensuring success for all students.

At Lombardi Middle School, a tradition of excellence is built upon the foundation of the search for continuous improvement and life-long learning for all students and staff. The creation of Lombardi excellence does not happen by accident. It exists because of the collaborative efforts of the Lombardi staff, students and families, who are united in partnership to provide exceptional learning opportunities for all students. Learning opportunities at Lombardi include an instructional program designed for students with hearing loss as well as newly developed program designed for students identified as “Gifted and Talented”. A wide variety of elective courses are also offered so that all students can explore more of what interests them and understand the relevance of their learning.
