The Board of Education of the School District of Beloit believes that the schools have been established for the welfare of each individual child in the community, regardless of sex, race, national origin, ancestry, color, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, economic status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability or handicap.
The basic purpose of the school district is to provide an environment in which each child's needs can be met. The education program should provide an opportunity for each individual to discover and develop his/her unique abilities. The individual should master the tools of learning and develop an understanding of his/her social heritage as time and ability permit. Each should leave school realizing that education is a continuing process.
