Details: Granite School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s): 6th Grade Chinese Dual Immersion Teacher Location: Calvin Smith Elementary Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule Contract: 9 Month Contract Description: This full-time teacher will teach Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies in Chinese in two half-day sessions at one school. The teacher will team with an English-speaking teacher, who will teach Language Arts in English, to provide instruction for two classes of students. This is a school level position with the principal as supervisor. The teacher will be expected to collaborate with school and district personnel. Requirements: • Participate in district professional development and instructional coaching • Collaborate with English partner teacher • Assess student learning and prepare data as needed • Develop lesson plans for second language learners • Utilize dual immersion guidelines, strategies, and curriculum maps • Accommodate visitors to the classroom • Meet with parents from both classes for SEP Conferences Qualifications: Elementary or Secondary License required (or eligible for USOE ARL program) Applicants: • Have or are willing to obtain World Language Endorsement in Chinese* • Have or are willing to obtain Dual Immersion Endorsement • Will show or are in the process of obtaining proof of Chinese Oral Proficiency Inventory – Advanced Mid** • Are English proficient ESL Endorsement is preferred Previous teaching experience preferred
