The general aim of Galena Park Independent School District is to help prepare each pupil emotionally, mentally, morally, physically, and socially to take his or her place in an ever-changing, complex society. To accomplish this aim, the District should be pupil-centered. In order that the central focus may be the individual student, it should be realized by all concerned that individual differences form personality and that needs, abilities, and interests should be the principal concern of the District.
To assist the student in facing many complex situations, the District should utilize proper guidance, counseling, individualization of instruction, and diversity of instructional materials. In training the student to grow in the ability to adjust to such complex situations, the full facilities of the District should be used by all pupils and teachers.
The schools are a vital factor in the growth and development of the well-rounded citizen, who will take his or her place in the American society, whose ideals are the fulfillment of democratic principles, free enterprise, and the dignity of the individual.
