La Marque ISD, established in 1943, encompasses 36 square miles in the La Marque, Bayou Vista, Texas City and Tiki Island communities in Galveston County.
The La Marque Independent School District is one of four Galveston County school districts that has earned "Recognized" status by the Texas Education Agency. In addition to the achievements the District has earned, the Region IV Education Service Center named the La Marque ISD School Board Outstanding School Board 2000.
La Marque ISD will pay a $1000 supplement for all certified teachers. A $2000 supplement will be paid to all certified teachers in the areas of math, special education and Spanish.
