Lee County is located in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina. The public school district serves residents of the entire county. In 1997-98, student enrollment was 3198. On May 30, 1997, the people of Lee County approved a $16.5 million bond referendum to build a new consolidated high school. Construction is set to begin in the summer of 1998 with occupancy set for the year 2000. The school district is working very hard to live up to its motto: Excellence is the standard!
