Beaverton students can take advantage of a high quality education that is grounded in traditional subjects with many opportunities to explore special interests. In addition to our strong comprehensive elementary and secondary schools, the District now has 22 learning option programs available for students with particular interests or abilities. This number will grow to 24 next fall with the addition of a medical magnet high school and science academy. Beaverton students consistently perform well on standardized tests. Our students score higher than the state and national averages in every subject at every grade level. Despite being the third largest school district in the state, Beaverton SD's dropout rate is well below the state average. This is due, in part, to the more than 4,000 dedicated teachers and support staff in your District who believe that even one dropout is too many. As a District, we are committed to one goal with one focus: Increase academic achievement districtwide with a special emphasis on literacy and mathematics gains for each student. The upward trend in student achievement districtwide is significant and growing.
