The Church Avenue Merchants Block Association, Inc., known as CAMBA, is a not-for-profit organization located in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. CAMBA, which was formed as a merchants' association in 1977, has grown over the past 22 years working with over 150 neighborhood-based businesses, organizations, and institutions, to provide a broad array of comprehensive employment, education, health, legal, social, business development and youth services to over 15,000 participants annually. Most of CAMBA's clients live, work and/or attend school in Brooklyn, the most multi-cultural community in New York City. CAMBA serves American-born local residents of many ethnic backgrounds, along with immigrants and refugees from Puerto Rico, Haiti, Guyana, other Caribbean countries, the former Soviet Union, Asia, and elsewhere.
CAMBA's Comprehensive Array of Services. CAMBA is a full-service agency with eight program areas that meet the diverse and changing needs of the agency's clients. The areas are: Adult Education and Employment, Business and Community, Case Management, Homeless, HIV/AIDS and Health, Immigration and Refugee, Legal Services, and School and Youth.
