Details: Carson City Schools is seeking applicants for the following position(s): 3rd Grade Teacher - One Year Only Position ID#: 5287 LICENSE: K-8 Endorsement, TESL preferred NOTE: This position begins the 2018-2019 school year. This is a One Year position for the 2018-2019 school year only. SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary placement based on education and verified contracted teaching experience accepted. Employer-paid retirement, health and life insurance, sick leave benefits and personal leave. Must possess a Nevada license endorsed for the specific subject(s) and to perform other educational functions at the level and in the field for which he/she is to be employed, issued in accordance with law and in full force at the time the services are rendered. (NRS 391.170). All applicants must meet all highly qualified requirements. Bilingual preferred. Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screen test. This is a replacement position. Summary Teach one or more subjects to students in public schools by performing the following duties. The teacher will implement into daily student instruction appropriate educational curriculum based on the Nevada State Standards and the Carson School District expectations. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and goals. This person will be expected to adhere to the Carson School District Framework for Effective Teaching. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as handbooks and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students and staff. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of student information software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations State of Nevada Teacher's license, current driver's license, original social security card. Certified in relevant subject area.
