Carson City Schools is seeking applicants for the following position(s):
Work-Based Learning Coordinator
Position ID#: 4940
SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary Range $65,096.38 to $91,851.87 annually. 8.00 hours per day, 12 months per year. Employer-paid retirement, health and life insurance, sick leave and annual leave benefits.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience in a relevant field, and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Bilingual preferred.
Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screen, physical, and lift test.
General Job Description:
Under administrative direction, develop, implement, expand, and maintain a formal system of work-based learning that promotes School-Community Partnerships. This program should provide a wide variety of career exploration opportunities such as internships, job shadowing opportunities, and in-school exposure to careers and college preparation and training activities with opportunities for development of real-world skills for students. This program must also promote relationships and strengthen ties between businesses, governmental agencies, educational institutions, and the Carson City School District.
This is a new position.
Licenses or Certificates Required:
Possession of a valid drivers license issued by the state of residence. Original Social security Card. University Diploma, evidence of high school graduation or equivalent as is applicable. Professional registration(s) in related fields is (are) desirable.
Essential Job Functions:
Plans, organizes and all work-based learning initiatives.
Coordinates the activities of the Departments with site administrators, department supervisors and staff.
Develops, recommends and interprets policies, regulations, standards, procedures and short/long term goals of the Departments managed.
Works in cooperation with administrators and other appropriate staff in the budget planning and workload.
Confers with present and prospective contracted service providers.
May serve as a representative of the School District on various committees and boards in the State and local community.
Prepares comprehensive verbal and written reports.
Shall collaborate with District staff on work-based learning efforts.
