Los Lunas Schools educate the children of the villages of Los Lunas and Bosque Farms, as well as the communities of Peralta, Valencia, Tomé, Meadow Lake, El Cerro, El Cerro Mission, and Isleta Pueblo. We serve a rich and diverse ethnic population in our schools.
Situated in northern Valencia County in the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico, Los Lunas and its surrounding communities are rich in history and culture. Its close proximity to Albuquerque allows semi-rural living to be combined with the cultural and business opportunities of the metroplex. Once a stop on historic Route 66, Los Lunas now has Interstate 25 skirting its western edge. The Albuquerque International Sunport (regional airport) is just 20 miles north.
Los Lunas Schools is one of the largest employers in Valencia County. We employ more than 600 licensed/certified personnel and over 600 support staff to meet the needs of our 8,500+ students.
Class size is determined by New Mexico Statues and State Standards. It is the intention of the state legislature that New Mexico have the lowest possible pupil/teacher ratios.
Los Lunas Schools is a publicly funded organization
