The Manchester School District (SAU #37) is accepting applications for the following position:

English Learners (EL) Teacher - High School .25 MST / .75 MHS

Location: (.5) Memorial High School (.5) MST High School

Additional Information:
Manchester School District (MSD) seeks an exceptional English as a Second Language (ESOL) teacher, who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our school community.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university. Requirements as set by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations.
NH Educator Certification and HQT status in Elementary Education (1810 or 1811) or other approved certification status may be considered

Job Summary:
This teaching position serves English learners (ELs) from various cultural and linguistic back ground. Students receive instruction in English using a sheltered-instruction approach to deliver grade-level academic content.
MSD holds teaching faculty to the standards outlined in the Danielson framework for effective teaching.

Domain I: Planning and Preparation:
Lesson plans should reflect knowledge of ESOL pedagogy, WIDA ELD standards and clear content and language objectives.

Domain II: The Classroom Environment:
The classroom environment should be a space of respect and multicultural and multilingual respect and rapport. The classroom culture should include behaviors and settings that encourage culturally and linguistically inclusive spaces and learning opportunities.

Domain III: Instruction:
Classroom teacher can monitor language within classroom to make grade-level content comprehensible to ELs. Instruction is enhanced with critical supports for students with limited English proficiency to accelerate English language development while simultaneously introducing students to new academic content. Teacher creates academically engaging lessons by linking new learning to students background knowledge.

Domain IV: Professional Responsibilities:
Effective educators are reflective and use data to drive instruction and inform improvement. Effective teachers of English learners are also able to effectively communicate cross culturally to engage families in student learning.

Compensation:
Salary is set in accordance with the Manchester Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement
