Omaha Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Student Placement Administrator

Location: Teacher Administration Center

Qualifications:
- Minimum of Masterís Degree with major emphasis in educational administration.
- A valid Nebraska teaching certificate with endorsement in the area of administration is required.
- A minimum of three years of successful administrative experience in an urban school district is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Student Assignment Plan and transportation eligibility.
- Demonstrated understanding of the student Code of - Conduct, Discipline Guidelines, and due process.
- Exemplary communication and organizational skills.
- Exemplary skills in leadership and interpersonal relations.
- Foster positive working relationships with students, families, staff, community members, and colleagues.

Other Information:
Location: Student Placement Office, Teacher Administration Center, 3215 Cuming Street, Omaha, NE

Reports to: Supervisor of Student Placement

Work Schedule: Ten Month (200 Day)

Salary Schedule: Salary Commensurate with Degree and Experience

Overtime Status: Exempt

Responsibilities:
The Student Placement Administrator assumes responsibility with other staff in the Student Placement Office for the effective administration of the Student Placement Office and all facets of its program, including assignment and transfer of students, school application process, and transportation eligibility. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Student Placement, this individual assists by providing leadership, support, and training to district staff. Specifically, the Student Placement Administrator collaborates with the Hearing Office and the Office of Community, School, and Family Engagement. This individual will exhibit strong standards of professional ethics when relating to staff, students, parents, administration, and the community.

Essential Duties:
- Responsible for the assignment of students to schools in accordance with the Student Assignment Plan of the Omaha Public Schools
- Facilitates the transfer of students due to a residential move, transportation eligibility, change in program, or due process
- Facilitates the Magnet/Specialty Program Pathway, Learning Community Open Enrollment and the Nebraska Option processes
- Awareness and involvement in the Special Education Due Process
