Coffeeville School District recently completed a significant part of its LEA Technology Plan. The progress made during this phase of the plan is directly attributed to the availability of funds received from a Technology Literacy Grant. In 1998 Coffeeville School District implemented its “A Door To Tomorrow” project. The overall goal of the project was to improve the achievement of K-6 grade students, including special education and gifted students. The project emphasize reading and language arts, believing that laying a strong foundation in the primary grades would have measurable impact in later grades. The project utilized current classroom technology with the integration of multimedia computer workstations in each classroom and in the school’s media center. Mississippi’s four statewide technology goals of competency, connectivity, content and computers were addressed.
