Austin Public Schools
Austin Public Schools operates four elementary buildings - Banfield, Neveln, Southgate and Sumner - housing first through fifth grade programs. In the fall of 2005, Woodson Kindergarten Center was opened to provide all day, everyday programming to 380 kindergarten students. Ellis Middle School is home to our sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Austin High School offers comprehensive programming for grades nine through 12.
Also housed at the high school is our Alternative Learning Center. The Community Learning Center (located in Queen of Angel's church) houses Early Childhood Family Education programs, preschool special education programs, Kids Corner childcare, and adult basic education classes.
ISD 492 serves the residents of approximately 711.5 square miles in Mower County . This area includes the City of Austin
