District 656 includes the communities of Faribault, Cannon City, Nerstrand, Shieldsville and Warsaw, with 4,072 students enrolled at six schools. The District is one of the area's largest employers, with more than 550 full and part-time employees and seven employee bargaining groups. The District employs approximately 327 licensed teachers and administrators, more than half of them hold masters or specialist degrees.
