Huntington County Community School Corporation Info

Mission

It is an ongoing challenge to create a "place where everyone learns." However, that remains the sole mission of our eight elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. The 6,800 children who attend Huntington County Community Schools are afforded countless opportunities for academic, social, and physical growth. Throughout our school community we work to insure such growth by enabling each student to find success in the classroom.

Technology

At every grade level students are exposed to the latest in computer technology. Computers are an integral part of instruction in every elementary classroom. Middle and high school students have access to numerous computer labs equipped with desktop publishing, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software. Teachers from each discipline and grade level find ways to successfully incorporate the Internet into classroom instruction.

Professional Development

Before students can be successful in the classroom, teachers need to be given the tools to effectively deliver instruction and assess learning. Teachers are provided with these tools through on-going professional development opportunities. This professional development prepares teachers to meet the needs of every student.

Professional Climate

Each school within our corporation relies on the leadership of administrators to launch new programs and initiate reform to improve student achievement. Teachers working with administrators play an integral role in designing and creating curriculum and implementing school-improvement strategies.
