Indianapolis Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Director of Principal Development

Location or Department: Associate Superintendent

Director of Principal Development
Summary: Performs a variety of supervisory, managerial, and administrative tasks in directing the operation of schools. This position reports to an Academic Improvement/Innovation Officer.

Major Responsibilities:
- Supports principals and school leadership teams in setting and achieving annual student achievement goals

- Serves as primary thought partner for principals, supporting decision-making and problem-solving processes

- Conducts regular schools visits to assigned schools and provides feedback and coaching to principals

- Supports principals in the resolution of difficult situations that require district-level support

- Provides and facilitates school design planning support to principals and school leadership teams

- Performs other duties as designated by the Academic Improvement/Innovation Officer

- Ability to analyze, interpret, and use data to collaborate, identify areas of strength and improvement, and ultimately drive results in school performance

- Ability to build, develop and maintain strong relationships with principals and leadership teams, staff, teachers, parents, students, district leaders, and community stakeholders.

- Ability to self-manage and prioritize among competing goals and exhibit flexibility as needed

- Ability to think strategically and facilitate the development and execution of complex plans

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills with keen attention to detail.

Masterís Degree in Education.

Hold or eligible for an Indiana administratorís license.

Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a classroom teacher and at least five (5) years experience as a school principal; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
