Instructional Lead (Part-time)

Summary of Essential Job Functions: The Instructional lead assists the school principal in providing vision and leadership to develop, support and monitor educational programs that optimize the human and material resources within the building. The Instructional lead ensure the academic program meets or exceeds yearly goals and keeps abreast of the multiple data points provided by formative and summative assessment data. He or she will oversee all instructional programs, services, and activities assigned by the principal to ensure that program objectives are met.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Indiana Teaching License covering the grade levels in which they will be supporting
- Must be deemed Highly Qualified in accordance with the Indiana Department of Education or their last state of employment
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience and working with teachers
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Working knowledge of district and state assessments
- Knowledge of the Indiana Academic standards in all content areas, how they are designed, overlap and the expected rigor in each grade level
- Knowledge of intervention resources and strategies
- Evidence of impacting student achievement
- Demonstrates instructional leadership qualities
- Experience in designing a schoolwide professional development plan
- Experience facilitating PLCs and Professional Development sessions
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other professional staff members

Major Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the principal and other building administrators to develop, deliver, and maintain a clear and coherent instructional vision and expectation
- Assists in creating a culture of excellence, teamwork and collaboration amongst the staff, teachers, students and families.
- Analyzes school data to determine specific instructional needs to boost student achievement
- Uses data to drive his or her work and keep up-to-date with all data that pertains to student achievement
- Creates a schoolwide student data tracking system
- Monitors implementation of district and school instructional initiatives
- Organizes Professional Learning Community meetings
- Provides targeted support to teachers and coaches through co-teaching, co-planning, and providing demonstration lessons.
- Stays up-to-date with district resources and promotes their use within the school
- Works in tandem with instructional/academic coaches in the building
- Keeps abreast of successful instructional methodologies and practices
- Provides high quality curricular training and resources to staff
- Ensures consistencies in instruction and practice amongst team of teachers
- Fosters culture of professionalism among teachers and staff
- Ensures learning environment and classroom instruction maximizes student learning
- Monitors progress of all students

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Teacher's License or Valid Teacher's License from another state

Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to compose documents and tools for instructional use required. Thorough knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, punctuation and formats required.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and all other statistical measurement tools.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to utilize courtesy and tact when communicating with others to deliver clear and concise messages.
