English Language Learners .5 & Student Interventionist .5 Teacher

Location: South Wayne

Description:
English Language Learners: Provide instructional services necessary to educate all students to high standards and ensure that all students meet Indiana's Academic Standards and the WIDA English Language Development Standards and aligned with federal, state, and district standards, requirements, laws, and regulations and fall within the FWCS/FWEA Master Contract.

Student Interventionist: Provide instructional services necessary to educate all students to high standards and ensure that all students meet Internationally Benchmarked Common Core Standards linked to Indiana’s Academic Standards and aligned with federal, state, and district standards, requirements, laws, and regulations and fall within the FWCS/FWEA Master Contract.

Salary: $39,100.00 - $68,050.00

English Language Learners
1.Candidate must have ability to work with students from diverse multicultural backgrounds.

2.Candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of second language acquisition process.

3.Candidate must be familiar with and committed to teach the WIDA English Language Development Standards and assessments.

4.Candidate must have experience and be able to demonstrate effective use of the FWCS Literacy Framework with English Language Learners.

5.Candidate must exhibit the ability to plan and implement an instructional program that provides differentiated instruction in response to students' needs, interests and individual learning profiles.

6.Candidate must have effective classroom management skills.

7.Candidate must be able to exhibit excellent communication skills for collaboration and planning with classroom teachers and other staff.

8.Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective communication with students and parents.

9.Prefer candidate with ELL teaching experience.

10.Prefer candidate with at least three years successful classroom teaching experience.

11.Prefer candidate with fluency in a language in addition to English.

Student Interventionist
1. FWCS Student Interventionists meet all definitions and guidelines for effective teachers as detailed in the FWCS Classroom Teacher Job Description and guidelines from the US DOE and IDOE.

2. FWCS Student Interventionists work in collaboration with building principals, classroom teachers, Building Instructional Coaches, and School Improvement Coordinators to align instruction and educate all students to high standards.

3. FWCS Student Interventionists have knowledge of current effective practices in instructional strategies for the improvement of small group and individual instruction.
a. The Student Interventionist demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the learning process in reading and/or mathematics.
b. The Student Interventionist adjusts for individual differences in collaboration, planning, and implementation.
c. The Student Interventionist recognizes individual differences and recommends and supports instruction focused on student mastery of curriculum goals.
d. The Student Interventionist organizes and manages resources essential to the comprehensive small group instructional program.
e. The Student Interventionist notifies parents of student need for intervention; provides a detailed plan for intervention, and communicates student progress regularly to the appropriate classroom teacher, building principal, and parents.
f. The Student Interventionist provides intervention lessons to individuals or groups of students based on student need and program guidelines that engage and motivate students, are culturally proficient, use class time effectively, and are implemented with fidelity.

4. FWCS Student Interventionists collect, organize, and analyze data to guide decision making.
a. The Student Interventionist develops a plan for each student based on results of assessments and creates an aimline based on students' personalized goals.
b. The Student Interventionist administers both formal and informal FWCS assessments and uses the data to guide decision making.

5. Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.

Qualifications:
Must be Highly Qualified and possess a valid Indiana exceptional needs teaching license with the proper exception along with general education elementary licensure for the grade level and/or subject assigned.

Must possess knowledge of effective practices including principles, theories, procedures, and techniques used in lesson plan development and classroom instruction.
