Riverside Brookfield High School is a partnership of parents, students, staff, Board of Education, elementary schools and community. This academic partnership will provide a comprehensive education in a safe, orderly, well-equipped environment. All students will be prepared with the intellectual, aesthetic, vocational, physical, personal and social skills necessary to be responsible and effective members of a diverse and changing world.
Riverside Brookfield High School, only 13 miles west of Chicago's Loop, is located in a suburb known as "the village in the forest." Designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted, Riverside is known for winding streets and Victorian homes. The village of Brookfield, developed in the late 19th century by S. E. Gross, is home to the world famous Brookfield Zoo, which welcomes over 2 million visitors a year. The high school district also draws from North Riverside, and sections of La Grange Park, Broadview and Lyons. Residents are largely professional, semi-professional, managerial, proprietary, and skilled workers. The student population is approximately 90% Caucasian, 7% Hispanic, 1% Asian and 1% African American.
