We share the belief that it is the responsibility of everyone at the Georgia School for the Deaf to educate our students through a shared effort with our parents, students, teachers, staff and community in a safe and secure environment.
GSD recognizes the need of all individuals to live in an accessible environment. At GSD, an accessible environment for deaf / hard-of-hearing children and adults includes the elimination of barriers to communication. GSD strives to meet the needs of all deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals by creating an atomosphere that reflects their rights, integrity, and ability to communicate. GSD uses a variety of communication modes to enhance mutual understanding both on and off campus.
We will prepare students with the necessary skills required for them to live independently, obtain further education, and become valuable members of a community.
