Clayton County Public Schools is seeking applicants for the following position(s):

Consultative Teacher (TRS/Part-time Lead Special Ed Teacher)

Location: Teaching and Learning

Job Description:
Monitors and supports the compliance of schools with timelines, state and federal regulations. Leads the school with compliance monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPís) and eligibilities. This position reports to the Director of Exceptional Students.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitors special education compliance for assigned school. Develops IEP master calendar to ensure that all IEPs and eligibilities are in compliance. Facilitates the IEP Review process for the school. Monitors and provides support during IEP meetings to ensure quality and compliance. Serves as point of contact for all initial IEPs. Collaborates with the school counselor to ensure all special education students are identified in the student information system, have accurate schedules and serves as the schools special education primary point of contact. Organizes and conducts academic achievement testing for students with disabilities.

Supervises and administrates assessment for re-evaluations and initial placement (consent for evaluation); monitors timelines for both re-evaluation and supports in the initial referral process. Ensures the implementation of the departmentís progress monitoring and data collection system for student IEPs.

Collaborates with classroom teachers to ensure the provision of appropriate services for disabled students; supports core subject teaching by providing professional development and technical assistance.

Liaises with school administrators, parents, teachers and staff, and Department of Exceptional Students to continually enhance and promote maximum learning benefits and opportunities for students.

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Bachelor degree in any area of Special Education, or General Education with a teaching certificate in an area of Special Education.

Minimum 3 years teaching experience within an area of special education.

Prior teaching experience in a K-12 public school environment; Special Education teaching experience preferred.

Georgia Professional Certification. T4 Ė T7.
