Little Rock School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s):

Volunteers in Public Schools/Partners in Education Specialist

Location: VIPS

1. Minimum of a bachelorís degree from college or university.
2. Two years related work experience with volunteer or educational programs; Knowledge of Best Practices in volunteer management. Certification in Volunteer Management (CVM) preferred.
3. Advanced computer skills, with demonstrated knowledge of print and web layout through the use of graphic and design tools.
4. Competency in standard office administration programs such as Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
5. Demonstrated experience in oral and written presentations including the ability to handle highly sensitive information/situations in a professional manner, special events and marketing endeavors supported by audio visual and web-based technologies, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, strong skills in meeting and dealing with the public in a manner that will promote a positive image of the Little Rock School District, strong skills in meeting and dealing with the public in a manner that will promote a positive image of the Little Rock School District, etc.

Reports To: Coordinator of VIPS/PIE

Supervises: Supervises key contacts of school and partnership programs. No direct employee reports.

Job Goal: Responsible for providing assistance to the Coordinator of the ViPS/PIE Department in all programmatic and administrative areas in order to achieve the departmental goals designed to establish and maintain volunteer programs through recruitment, screening, and training of volunteers designed to aid teachers in the education of all children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

1. Recruits, screens, trains, and supports volunteers in schools and/or appropriate school-based volunteer programs.
2. Assists in developing training curriculum, processes and guidelines for volunteer programs.
3. Trains and supports all school-based ViPS chairpersons.
4. Maintains database of 8,000+ entries and captures statistical data of volunteer services for district-wide reports.
5. Assists with and/or leads special projects, volunteer events, and recognitions.
6. Serves as department newsletter editor, maintains web pages, supports social media outlets, and public relations endeavors.
7. Assists with ViPS community board and supports board functions.
8. Assist with fundraising and budgetary processes. Coordinates department purchases, including inputting purchase requests, tracking purchase orders, receiving and distributing materials.
9. Keeps Supervisor apprised of volunteer programs, services, and activities.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:
PAY 705 Grade 04 $30,768 - $54,252 Salary based on an 11:00 Month 220 days contract plus benefits package.

NOTE: Precise placement on the salary range will be determined by experience.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boardís Policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
