Unique Full-time Teaching Opportunity in Belize Rain Forest.
Plan and teach developmentally age-appropriate curriculum with emphasis on experiential learning to three children: girl 12 (sixth grade), boy 9(third grade)and girl 5 (kindergarten). They are the children of Jacob and Kelly Marlin who founded BFREE (Belize Foundation for Research and Environmental Education), a research station deep in the jungle of southern Belize.
BFREE is a non-profit organization located on 1153 acres nestled in the foothills of the Mayan Mountains, surrounded by over one million acres of protected rain forest. BFREE hosts interns, student groups and scientific researchers.
Qualifications include: B.A. or M.A. in Elementary and/or Early Childhood Education; two or more years teaching experience; strong interest in the outdoors and readiness to live in rustic surroundings with minimal amenities. Must be able to tolerate isolation (you'll be six miles from the nearest road and another twenty from the nearest town) and lots of mosquitoes.
Note: teacher with spouse willing to work at BFREE would be acceptable.
